Quantum Qi: The Taoist Art of Nurturing Life

“Qi Gong is a discipline, a healing art, a way of training the body and mind, a meditation in motion, a medication in motion, a way of conditioning the body for sports, for martial arts, improving strength, stamina, coordination, balance and athletic skills. It is a system of healing and wellness exercises and meditations designed to harmonize and transform the body, mind and spirit and unify with the Tao, unify with the cosmos.”

~ Ken Cohen, QiGong Research and Practice Center (Excerpt from Quantum Qi)

Quantum Qi in Practice

Qi Gong is the modern formation of an ancient science of healing, wellness and vitality that comes from the Taoist and pre-Taoist traditional medical practices of China. Although it is not currently well known in the West, this ancient art and science of Qi (Chi) is the energetic foundation of all Chinese Martial Arts, such as Tai Chi, Wushu and Bagua, as well as TCM – Traditional Chinese Medicine (Herbal Medicine, Feng Shui, 5 Element, Acupuncture, etc.).

This series serves as a gateway to reawaken and invigorate this ancient source of wisdom for body, mind and spirit here in the West. Qi Gong is unsurpassed as a healing modality for diseases referred to as “chronic and incurable” such as Cancer, Parkinson’s, Stroke, Fibromyalgia, and other psychological and autoimmune disorders. It is a practice which is profound yet simple and accessible to all. Therefore, many believe that it has the potential to become as popular in the West as Yoga is now.

Qi Gong is an extraordinary system of self-healing which empowers the individual to discover and reconnect with their innate healing abilities. In the US alone, our economy spends over 3 billion dollars a year to treat mostly preventable diseases. Qi Gong offers a simple and effective time honored system of preventative and complementary medicine that costs nothing. It is currently being studied and used extensively by the Mayo Clinic, Kaiser Permanente, and the Veteran’s Administration as a compliment to conventional allopathic care.

The Quantum Qi series is currently envisioned as nine, 30-minute documentary episodes; complimented by an additional nine, 15-30 minute instructional home-practice exercises specifically created by the interviewees to offer audiences a directly felt experience of the teachings presented. The series has been crafted mindfully with all interviews taking place out of doors in nature; it includes cinematic aerial footage of Masters performing Qi Gong, Tai Chi and Martial Arts in verdant landscapes, a masterful original musical score, and 2D and 3D animations of the hidden aspects of our subtle body and acupuncture meridians. These animations are stylistically inspired by ancient Chinese medical illustrations and the exquisite watercolor paintings of China (especially the Tang and Yuan dynasties).

Each episode will include insights into the science, philosophy and practices of Qi Gong, Tai Chi and Taoism spoken first hand by world renowned Masters, teachers and scholars of these arts. The scope of Quantum Qi is not simply educational or informative. It offers viewers an in-depth intellectual and experiential perspective on how to harness and channel life force energy (Qi) to recover natural suppleness of body, mind, and spirit through the ancient healing and contemplative science of the Tao.
